- Origins -

"Memories can be such a dreadful thing"

Life has a weird way of doing things, doesn't it?
Born in Ul'dah to a drunken father and whore mother, cursed with "Voidsent Eyes"; allowing me to peer into alternate realities and communicate with people from anywhere in Eorzea, as well as guide me like a sixth sense. It's a rare ability and one people don't trust... so I had to keep my abilities secret.
My only memories of my birth father are of him and my mom fighting, eventually mom got tired of it. She took me in the dead of night and we ran away to New Gridania. She continued with her... chosen profession... and seeing how she was never around, I chose not to attend school. Instead I spent my time in the woods outside the forest-enshrouded city, playing with wildlife and listening to music on a Tomestone I knicked from some well-off Au'ra guy in the market. He didn't even notice! I even found and raised a lone White Whittret I named "Taro". He went everywhere with me.One night while walking to the river to let Taro play I came across a Viera with black and red ears as well as bright red eyes. He looked lost-in-thought, so I approached him and we began to talk. His name was "Kyro Vikuma", he explained that he liked to walk in the forest because it reminds him of someone close to him that had passed away... I only wish I'd known at the time who he had lost. He never really talked about it much, but I could tell how much it bothered him.Kyro and I's friendship would grow in the coming months. He's the one who taught me to fight, though I was never much for using a lance... I did always own him at frisbee, though. Even still, he made me competent enough with a sword, which would prove useful in the coming weeks, as my mother had met the man I stole from...
"Se' Dhala Royal". They had fallen for each other, though I believe he was more in "lust" than "love"... She dragged me along with her in the move to Limsa Lominsa, away from the forest and Kyro. All to move in with some rich douche with a bigger wallet than d... I should stop.
...But I hate that man...

- Becoming a Royal -

"I didn't want his name... but it has a nice ring to it"

The palace Se' Dhala owned was breath-taking, but the void was screaming at me that something was off about him. How bad could he be, though... right? He was loaded, my mom sees something in him, and he did have a son. One of which I share an exact birthday with! His name is Moralis Royal, a Viera with eyes of emerald, black and green ears with long hair, the tips coloured the same as his ears. He was very kind and spoke huge words... wtf is a "benediction"?..
It didn't take long before Se' Dhala forced me to attend some ritzy private school. I always hated the uniform. Long story short, I underperformed and got kicked out. Se' Dhala started to resent me. Beating me for anything done wrong and constantly calling me horrible things. My mother never stood up for me, but Moralis always did; even if it meant taking some hard hits himself.
The fights with Se' Dhala only grew the bond between Moralis and I, we started adventuring through the city and sneaking around at night. I would teach Moralis how to survive the streets, him returning the favour and teaching me what the school couldn't... He was such a great teacher. He dreamt of becoming the Headmaster of the school. I think he would have done amazing if he had followed that dream... We became so close that we got matching hearts tattooed on our cheeks in each other's favourite colours, mine being blue, his green. Once a week, on the last day of school before the weekend, I would steal a couple of sea salt ice creams from the stall by the beach, Im sure the owner saw me every time... but I don't think he cared. Moralis never told me why, but it was his favourite. He said it reminded him of an old friend, but that's as much as he would tell. Moralis kind of reminds me of Kyro...
I bet they would get along so well.
The years of torment from Se' Dhala was becoming too much. So I devised a plan to steal as much Gil as I could fit in my bag with Taro, and slip out in the dead of night, when no one was awake. I couldn't tell Moralis... He would just try to stop me. But I couldn't take it anymore. I had to leave... so that night while alone in my room, just after another big fight, I looked into the void for places to go... When I saw a city in the snowy north known as Foundation. Now I know where I can go and be far from Se' Dhala's reach. Moralis told me his wealth comes from his pirate crew; something Se' Dhala kept hidden from me all this time, so I expected to have a lot of people looking for me. I continued peering into the void to plan a route outside the city walls.
When Moralis crept in to check on me.

- Runaway -

"I was on the run... and it was so cold..."

He saw my eyes glowing with Void Energy, but he just... stood there... speechless. I began to explain before he cut me off saying he had read about Voidsent Eyes. He was amazed and delighted in his correct assumption that I had such abilities. Unfortunately his delight was short-lived as I also broke the news that I would be leaving. As I expected he attempted to convince me to stay. It broke my heart seeing him so distraught... So I handed him a crystal given to me by my grandmother. She would make crystals encasing a void-imbued powder. Normally I would drop them, allowing them to shatter and use the void to change outfits in the blink of an eye...
Useful when evading an angry shopkeeper.
The crystal exploded in his hand and his mind being unfamiliar with void energy, he lost consciousness. It allowed me time to perform a small ritual, sharing my curse to him. Replacing one of his eyes with one of my own. Void tied energy and all. I pulled Moralis onto my bed and hugged him before sneaking to the vault and filling my bag with Gil. My plan worked almost perfectly until I heard Se' Dhala begin to scream the word "Thief!" and shout for our palace retainer to summon his thugs...
I had to move fast.
I left through the door to my balcony. Moralis and I were both accustomed to climbing down, but in my rush I lost my grip and fell; hurting my ankle and slowing me down as I limped towards the city on my planned path. I saw two pirates rush into the palace.
My time was running short.
I snuck through the city limping from alley to alley and climbing onto rooftops when I heard Se' Dhala's thugs ahead of me. I managed to escape the city without being seen and only one close call. This was it, absolutely no turning back. I caught my breath and began limping north towards Foundation. It took twelve days, but I had arrived in what would unfortunately be my new home for the foreseeable future...

- Confidence -

"I finally started to feel like myself..."

The city was so cold, and I had nowhere to go... but it was better than being beaten and called worthless every night. I used my street knowledge and stolen Gil to establish lookouts around the city, watching for Se' Dhala's goons. They would also keep me up to date on the goings-on of the city itself; allowing me to keep a low-profile as a thief. I would only ever steal clothes and food. One might say Moralis' kind nature rubbed off on me.Eventually I found work in the Paladin's Guild. I hated it. They would send me on expeditions outside the city with a few other paladin knights. All of the knights were stuck-up muscular Au-ra and Highlanders. They would poke fun at me for my size, I didn't let them get to me; I knew they just didn't like that the 5,4' girl could take a harder hit than them.I worked for the paladins for a couple of years, saving the spare Gil I could to afford airship tickets to New Gridania. Maybe Kyro would still be there. I was just hoping he would still remember me.I booked my flight and by the following month, I was back in New Gridania, sporting a hooded cape to conceal myself in paranoia. Even though it had been years, I still got nervous when I would see a pirate come into the city. Taro, on the other hand was sniffing happily at the fresh air of the city enshrouded in trees. I stopped by the marketplace to purchase a hammock and camping supplies to set up a place to stay, out in the forest where Kyro and I used to spar. I figured he had to come back at some point if he were still here.
He was always sentimental like that.
A few weeks passed and I met a woman by the city's Aether crystal, she was dressed in beautiful bright red silken robes and carried circular blades known as "chakrams". I was immediately intrigued by such an unusual weapon. The woman told me where I could purchase a set, and I set out to buy them immediately. I found a beautiful set designed in the fashion of the godly water serpent, "Leviathan". With my new blades in hand, I began my walk back to camp where Kyro was investigating the setup I had left behind. I'm so glad he was still in Gridania! I ran up and hugged him, Taro pawed at his legs in excitement. Before he even had time to try and recognize me, I started explaining my story; trying to hold back tears the whole time. I left out anything about Se' Dhala and Moralis worried Kyro may become a target or seek them out in my stead. After we calmed down, we built a fire and sat for a while, talking about what we wanted to do, Kyro had become a Samurai, trained in Bushido and working to become a master of his class. Kyro noticed my new chakrams and when I explained that I didn't yet know how to use them, he offered to help me learn; stating he could use the practice against a ranged opponent. He also told me he was to be married to a Miqo'te name Yuki. I was so happy for him... and happy to have him back.

- The Digital Princess -

"What can I say? Im Royal."

Kyro had introduced me to Yuki the following day. We didn't exactly hit it off, as Yuki was incredibly jealous of me. I never understood why... whats to be jealous of a homeless person on the run from killers and kidnappers? Some months passed and Kyro was helping me almost daily with learning to use my chakrams. I was really starting to become rather deadly with them... some might say too deadly. One day while sparring on a bridge standing a few feet above a stream, Kyro went to dodge out of the way of one of my wooden chakrams. He slipped and fell off the bridge and into the water, hitting his head upon landing and knocking him unconscious. I hopped down to help him as he didn't get back up immediately. In fact... He didn't get back up at all. I was terrified, thinking my friend had died before my eyes.I carried Kyro back to the city to receive medical attention. The healers in New Gridania said they had stabilized him, but he would need attention from a more capable facility in Limsa. A nightmare come true as I had to make the decision of leaving Yuki alone in Limsa, Se' Dhala could learn of Kyro... and by connection... Me; or going and potentially being killed, or worse... taken back to the palace. As much as I don't get along with Yuki, she didn't ask for my arrival; and with it... drama. I made the decision to accompany Yuki to Limsa and keep an eye on her while we wait for Kyro to awaken. With my decision made, the healers began transporting Kyro and I left to break the news to Yuki and pack up my camping gear. She took the news harshly and immediately set off for the airship port. I wouldn't see her again until I arrived in Limsa on the following flight from hers. Luckily she was still awaiting transport to the hospital when I arrived. So we rode together in the Chocobo-led carriage. We talked about our histories with Kyro and I think that's when she started realizing I wasn't trying to steal him from her. I warned her of bad people in the big city of Limsa Lominsa without bringing up Se' Dhala as not to scare her from me. I also paid for her to rent an inn room with the money I still had from the paladins, feeling guilty for Kyro's condition.Yuki and I would become friends in the month that Kyro was in medical care, only running into trouble with thieves and pick-pockets. Yuki was quite the fighter, but I shouldn't have expected anything less from Kyro's soon-to-be. Come to think of it, I hadn't seen hide nor tail of Se' Dhala's thugs at all since we had arrived. Maybe he had moved. Good news for me, but my hopes of running into Moralis were beginning to fade as well.Kyro had finally awoken from his coma, Yuki was ecstatic and excited to show him her Aethergram; a silly Tomestone app that people post pictures to and show off what they're doing. It was odd to me at first, but Yuki and I made it a friendly competition to see who could get followers faster. She won no contest, but I blame everyone's obsession with Miqo'te girls... I fell in love with taking pictures, though.
Adopting the moniker "The Digital Princess".

- Reunited -

"I finally had back the only family I truly had."

Time passed and Yuki and I were still having fun taking pictures. We were both growing more popular online every day and I had started branching out more, having noticed Se' Dhala's thugs rarely ever caused trouble. I only ever saw a few here and there that were easy enough to avoid. With confidence in my ability to stay away from them, I started visiting the clubs and casinos of Eorzea. I met a ton of cool people but the gambling was starting to get out of hand. Guess I did well enough to keep myself afloat for so long without a real job, but it was time for me to find work. While attending an event at a club called "Wonderland", I met a DJ and nightclub owner named "Aemilia Satella"; a happy and inviting Viera who I contacted after close asking if she was in need of employees. She had the perfect role for me; a photographer for her "Eluded Ecstasy Nightclub".Finally making reliable, honest money, I was doing well. Even having moved in to the Free Company House of Eluded Existence and buying an apartment to set up as a Photography Studio. Moralis had even started learning how to harness his new Void Abilities and reached out to me! We started seeing each other more and more, so I decided to introduce him to Kyro and Yuki. The day that we all met, Kyro and Moralis greeted eachother before being jaw-dropped. Apparently they're brothers!? Moralis never talked about his past much but it seemed fate had led him back to his family... but what did Se' Dhala do to have Moralis there in the first place? I guess it doesn't matter now, because I can tell the two are beyond happy be reunited again. Moralis even showed off his Void Abilities, something I had never shown Kyro for fear of scaring him off or accidentally hurting him. I could tell he was nervous about it, but what can he do? It is his brother after all.Months passed, and our little family was meeting almost nightly before we noticed Se' Dhala's thugs making more noise than usual.
Se' Dhala was stationing more guards around to watch Moralis, so we had a choice to make. Risk getting caught, or deal with Se' Dhala. Moralis didn't like the idea of killing the man who basically raised him, even with all the torment he put us through. I never understood, but I respected Moralis' woes. Eventually we devised a plan to sneak into the palace and seal Se' Dhala in The Void in his sleep.
Everything was set to go with our plan to dispose of Se' Dhala, so I snuck into the palace through my old window under the cover of nightfall. Kinda surprised no one took the lattice down from my old balcony with how often Moralis and I would use it to sneak out. It was all going so smoothly, I had rendezvoused with Moralis and we had managed to sneak into Se' Dhala's quarters. We just had to open a tear in Eorzea's Aetheric Fabric and push him in... or so we thought. Our eyes shined brighter than they ever had before, and we ripped the tear into The Void, but we didn't expect it to be so unstable, and it started sucking me in with Se' Dhala. Moralis yelled and tried to grab for me, but it was too late. I was sucked into The Void and the tear had closed behind me...
